The changing signs of Urmston

29 March 2018

We’ve recently helped two local Urmston businesses with brand spanking signage for their new premises in Urmston town centre.  It’s an exciting time for this bustling market town as it sees continuing success with its plans for redevelopment and already an increased shop occupancy rate.

Destination M41

There’s nothing better than a town or high street full of occupied premises and of course, plenty of signage on display to show shoppers and visitors it’s a busy place with lots of goods and services on offer.  That’s certainly the case with Urmston, which is currently booming and fast becoming a destination shopping centre by day with a thriving selection of restaurants and bars by evening.  And of course, who can disregard the exciting news of the new indoor food hall coming later this year, named Market 41, and an improved artisan market, heralding a revival of the town’s market quarter?

Independent traders

With the new Market 41 destination planning to cater for ten to twelve food and drink retailers around a central seating area, much like the successful Altrincham market, the focus is on bringing independent businesses and small manufacturers who work with locally sourced products to the town.

And outside of the market, Urmston has seen an increase in exciting food ventures and specialist shops opening recently.  From the fishmongers ‘What’s the Catch’, to the coffee and art lounge Darby’s, craft beers make their appearance through Prairie Schooner Taphouse and Craft Brewtique.  It’s clear to see Urmston is taking on a character of its own and will attract new visitors for a slice of independent foodie heaven.

Ixia Flowers

Taking over new premises on Railway Road, Ixia Flowers is a new florist in Urmston creating beautiful bouquets and boxes of wild and wonderful blooms.  Back in February, we helped them with new signage for their shop front, which included a fascia sign complete with their logo, telephone number and social media details as well as further branding to the roller frontage, for added emphasis.  Printing on white vinyl ensured details stood out, as well as the sign itself on the high street, with the Ixia logo made with stand-off lettering for that extra special touch.

Emma-Lou Cakes

Making some of the most incredible and delicious cakes, Emma-Lou Cakes recently moved into new premises on Flixton Road in Urmston where they now bake in full view of customers!  They approached us for help with their new shop front signage which came by way of a fantastic, hot pink fascia board with printed website, telephone and social media details and the logo taking centre stage on a circular acrylic stand-off, ensuring it won’t be missed!  And if there was any reason worth visiting the ladies – they regularly sell their fresh cake cut-offs for only a £1 a bag!

Mirror Mirror Salon

Back last year we helped with new signage for the Mirror Mirror salon on Flixton Road.  As well as the new white fascia board, we produced high shine, silver stand-off letters to sit on top, which perfectly resonate with the Mirror Mirror branding.  We also printed and installed frosted vinyl window graphics to the centre of the salon windows, with opening times to the entrance door.
